ALFO OREGON'S

URBAN RURAL CONNECTION PROJECT

Communities across Oregon are facing a host of challenges that impact their ability to thrive. Whether it is under-sourced educational systems, limited housing options, diminished economies, and/or limited access to complete and affordable health care, urban and rural communities are suffering under a wide range of systemic problems.

While every community in Oregon has challenges and opportunities, changing demographics demonstrated through growing urban centers and declining rural populations amplify differences in communities. A perceived “urban/rural” divide of values, resources and opportunities persists and feels like it continues to grow.

With our mission of bringing diverse corporate, public, and nonprofit leaders together for the purpose of deepening understanding, ALF Oregon looked to contribute to bridging Oregon's urban rural divide.

ALF Oregon

CONNECT. INSPIRE. TRANSFORM.

The American Leadership Forum (ALF) of Oregon is a nonprofit, non-partisan organization founded in 1986 to bring a diverse range of corporate, public and nonprofit leaders together for the purpose of deepening understanding and commitment to listening for the ultimate purpose of building a network of leaders with established bonds of trust and mutual support committed to bettering Oregon.

ALF Oregon hosts two cohorts each year of talented, proven leaders who commit to meeting together once a month July to May.  Each month, the class members (“Fellows”) learn about and contemplate challenges facing different Oregon communities while also digging into the ALF Oregon curriculum.
